C-NET is pleased to announce that we have received a grant from the FirstEnergy Foundation to support C-NET's community interview program "Around the County".  This is the second year that C-NET has received this generous grant from the Foundation.  "Around the County", hosted by WPSU Reporter Anne Danahy, features guests from the government, educational and non-profit sectors of Centre County.  The program serves to promote government and educational initiatives, and to educate the public on the wide array of services and needs of Centre County’s many non-profit organizations.Contributions to...

C-NET is pleased to announce the receipt of a grant from the AAUW (American Association of University Women), State College Branch, in the amount of $1,500.  The grant will be used to fund an additional production internship, awarded to a female student in a technology field for three upcoming semesters.C-NET interns receive "hands on" production experience in a professional setting.  Interns have the opportunity to work with a wide variety of audio and video equipment, in many different venues.  Interns also benefit from exposure to the workings of local and County government.C-NET thanks for...

The cable franchise between Comcast Cable and the eight municipalities of the Centre Area Cable Consortium (CACC) will undergo re-negotiation in 2018.  Cable franchises are agreements that exist between cable companies and municipalities in exchange for the cable companies use of the public rights of way.  The CACC is currently comprised of eight municipalities: Borough of Bellefonte, Borough of State College, Benner Township, College Township, Ferguson Township, Halfmoon Township, Harris Township, and Patton Township.Cable franchises provide for franchise fees to be paid to municipalities, cu...
